The wardrobe of outfits in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy contains a variety of gear from comics, to movies, to originally designed clothing. Including their standard gear, each member of the Guardians of the Galaxy has at least eight different outfits to choose from. The best part is that all of these outfits can be unlocked in-game, with no DLC or pre-order bonuses required.
All outfits in Marvel's GOTG can be unlocked by playing through the game and opening various chests along the way. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy keeps its outfits hidden throughout various chapters in crawl spaces and hard-to-reach places. Occasionally, reaching the outfit location requires Star-Lord to call upon a teammate for some assistance.
Drax, Gamora, and Groot all have opportunities to use their talents to help Star-Lord solve these problems. There is at least one outfit that can be unlocked in nearly every chapter of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Chapters 9, 11, 15, and 16 are the only exceptions because they focus more on moving the plot forward and boss fights with little-to-no exploration elements. Additionally, players who pre-ordered Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy also received an outfit for each character, but these are outfits that can be found in-game as each chapter is explored.
Once an outfit is unlocked players will have that outfit permanently, even if they choose to replay a chapter that took place before they found it.
Every outfit featured in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is purely cosmetic, offering no advantages in regards to combat or traversal in the game.
Additionally, Drax's Guardians of the Galaxy movie outfit and Rocket's Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse outfit are the only two outfits that have a location determined by the choices players will make as Star-Lord throughout Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy's story.
